Job summary

Johns Hopkins Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the Baltimore area seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to inspect, clean, assemble and sterilize instrument sets, and prepare supplies for steam and low-temperature sterilization.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least two years instrument processing experience, CSPDT or CRCST certification; day shift 9 am–5:30 pm; salary range $21.88–$36.13 per hour with competitive benefits and sign-on bonus.

General Summary:

• Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years instrument processing experience required at a proficient level in all areas to include sterilization and set assembly
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) OR Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)

Shift:

Day Shift (9 am - 5:30 pm)

Salary Range:

Minimum 21.88/hour - Maximum 36.13/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
