Job summary

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the Night Shift. The role involves inspecting, cleaning, assembling and sterilizing surgical instrument sets and preparing supplies for sterilization.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, certification through CBSPD or HSPA or IAHCSMM, and at least two years of instrument processing experience.

• Two years of instrument processing experience required.
• Certification through CBSPD or HSPA or IAHCSMM is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets.
• Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment to prepare supplies for steam or low-temperature sterilization.

The Sterile Processing Tech inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification
• Minimum two years instrument processing experience required at a proficient level in all areas to include sterilization and set assembly
