Job summary

Healthier-Mississippi-People-LLC is seeking Sterile Processing Technicians to learn SPD procedures including decontamination, Prep and Pack, high level disinfection, endoscope reprocessing, sterilizing instruments, and equipment for the OR and ancillary departments. Orientation covers preparing instrument sets and trays with high accuracy and safety.

Technicians will maintain 98% accuracy and 90% productivity, and support interactions between SPD and OR while following safety and infection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and apply clinical procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, sterilizes, maintains, and prepares surgical instruments and equipment for distribution.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies for cleaning, sterilization, assembling, storage, and validation of medical supplies and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and infection control practices; maintains records.
• Operates sterilization equipment and washers; maintains quality/safety controls documentation.
• Maintains inventory of clean and sterilized surgical instruments per standards.
• Follows infection prevention policies and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
• Duties may be added or changed by management.
