Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to join its Perioperative Services team. The role covers decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation for the OR and procedural areas.

This full-time position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 6:00am–2:30pm, and a comprehensive benefits package as part of BJC's Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instrument sets, trays, supplies and linen, prioritizing according to surgery schedule.
• Disassembles, cleans, inspects, tests functionality and reassembles instrumentation and power equipment.
• Troubleshoots sterilizers and notifies lead or supervisor of priority needs.
• Documents set contents and completion for all trays per protocols with instrument tracking.
