Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Sterile Processing Department Technician I to support inpatient care by processing and distributing instruments and medical equipment. You will input patient charges and ensure compliance with department procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years SPD or Surgical Technician experience, or enrollment in a Sterile Processing or Surgical Technician program within 6 months of hire; this position operates under the STC SEIU CBA.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent; 2 Years Sterile Processing Department (SPD) or Surgical Technician experience.
• Documentation of enrollment in a Sterile Processing or Surgical Technician program or documentation of scheduled testing towards obtaining Certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Manage inventory, packaging, and delivery of sterile supplies to units and departments.
• Follow safety, infection control, and hospital policies; train new staff as needed.
