Job summary

CVCH is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to support the Sterile Processing Department by performing decontamination, assembly, processing of instruments, and related SPD tasks.

The role requires knowledge of sterilization methods, adherence to universal precautions, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS or CPR certification required or must be able to obtain within first 90 days of employment; eligible for Medical Assistant-Registered Licensure.
• Six months of sterile processing experience preferred; CRCST certification preferred.
• English required.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle delicate equipment.
• Compliance with safety, HIPAA, and regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, correct assembly, processing of instruments, and labeling for sterilization.
• Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments to ensure readiness.
• Maintains SPD cleanliness and performs routine maintenance per manufacturer recommendations.
• Participates in infection control and safety committees as assigned.
• Adheres to organizational policies and procedures and communicates effectively with team.
