Job summary

NKC Health is seeking a dedicated technician to manage the sterilization, decontamination, and handling of surgical supplies and instruments across the hospital, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will inventory, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize, store and distribute equipment, while maintaining safety, quality standards and clear communication with teammates. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with instruments, sterilization and decontamination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package and sterilize surgical supplies and equipment.
• Store, distribute and track items in a timely, quality-driven manner throughout the hospital.

SUMMARY

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality / timely manner throughout the hospital.

EXPERIENCE

Experience with instruments, sterilization, and decontamination area, preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Basic computer knowledge.

OTHER

Good interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability toreceive and give constructive feedback. Good verbal and written communication skills as needed for the job, being concise by phone, intercomand in person. Selfmotivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision. Able to learn concepts and apply them to his/her work. Able to work standing. Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds without special equipment or assistance of others.
