Quincy Medical Group in Quincy, IL is seeking a Sterilization Technician to support patient safety by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments for surgical and endoscopy services. You will work in Sterile Processing and GI scope reprocessing, ensuring readiness of equipment for clinical teams.

This hands-on, detail-oriented role requires adherence to infection prevention standards, documentation of cycles, and collaboration with surgical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous sterile processing, instrument reprocessing, or healthcare experience preferred.
• Sterile Processing certification preferred.
• Experience with GI endoscope reprocessing and high-level disinfection preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to infection prevention and patient safety.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Clean, inspect, disinfect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform cleaning and high-level disinfection of GI endoscopes and related equipment following manufacturer instructions and safety standards.
• Prepare instrument trays, procedure supplies, and equipment for surgical and endoscopy services.
• Operate and monitor sterilization and reprocessing equipment, ensuring proper documentation and quality control.
• Inspect instruments and equipment for damage, functionality, and cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment testing, and reprocessing activities.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards to support patient and employee safety.
• Monitor inventory, organize supplies, and communicate equipment or supply needs to appropriate team members.
• Collaborate with surgical, GI, and clinical staff to ensure instruments and equipment are available when needed.
