Job summary

Universal Health Services' Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is hiring a Sterile Processing Tech for a full-time, on-site role with an afternoon/evening schedule. You will process, decontaminate and sterilize instruments, supporting Surgical Services and patient care.

No prior experience required; formal training preferred. The position offers full benefits, PTO, a 401(k) plan and opportunities for career development within UHS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: None necessary, completion of formal training in field preferred.
• License/Certification: Certified within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Reprocessing cycle of instrument management: decontamination, assembly, preparation and packaging for sterilization, sterilization, and storage.
• Inspection and correct assembly of surgical instruments including selection of packaging, integrators and BI's.
• Correct sterilization/high level disinfection of instruments including selection of method.
• Care of instruments after sterilization/high level disinfection including interpretation of results and storage.

This Sterile Processing Tech opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient afternoon/evening schedule.

We are searching for a Sterile Processing Tech. You will be responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of Instrumentation, supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices. Initiates case carts for Surgical Services. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
