Job description

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Woodforest is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. Our fast-paced ASC is committed to producing high-quality work and providing excellent patient experiences.

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for caring for and maintaining all surgical instrumentation, as well as setting up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Computer skills required
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
  • Six months of experience preferred
  • 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers
  • Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
  • Organized in setting up operating room instrument trays
  • Understanding of steam/gravity sterilizer operation
  • Understanding of Sterrad sterilizers
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain records
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions
  • Excellent team player with communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians

Required Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Baccalaureate degree preferred
  • Minimum five years of surgical experience as a circulator
  • Two years in surgical management including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care
  • Current Texas RN License and BLS certification
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians
