Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for instrument set assembly, decontamination, sterilization, and storage. The role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to ensure timely provision of sterile sets and case carts.

A HS diploma or GED is required, with CST certifications preferred. Three years of Central Sterile experience is expected, with CST/CCST licensure preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED req’d.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech req’d.
• In lieu of CST cert, 3 years Central Sterile exp req’d.
• 3 years Central Sterile exp req’d.
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician preferred.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection and sterilizing instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.
• Assists in maintaining continuous workflow and delivers superior customer service.
