Job summary

Fairview Health Services at University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank in Minneapolis is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician for the 0.8 FTE evening shift (2:30-11 PM, Monday–Thursday with weekends as needed). The role provides instruments and supplies for the OR and ensures decontamination, cleaning, assembly and sterilization of reusable devices onsite.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in an operating room or medical device reprocessing role OR completion of an approved Fairview Sterile Processing training program
• Graduate of a Central Service program, Accredited Surgical Technologist program or Licensed Practical Nurse program
• CRCST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, cleans, processes, assembles, sterilizes, stores, and distributes reusable instruments and medical devices.
• Operates automated and non-automated processing equipment such as instrument washers and sterilizers.
• Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses, and medical staff regarding instruments and supplies.
• Maintains knowledge of and complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
