Job summary

Wellstar Windy Hill Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. The role involves receiving, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing critical surgical instruments, following AORN/AAMI guidelines and hospital policies.

You will monitor sterilizers, prep packs, and support OR turnover. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of sterile processing experience, and CRCST/CSPDT certifications (or provisional options).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; related certification preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire; some roles offer provisional options.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital sterile processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, disinfect, and decontaminate instruments and equipment per policies.
• Operate washer/decontaminator, cart washer, and ultrasonic cleaner for decontamination.
• Inspect and wrap/contain instruments; ensure proper sterilization and packaging.
• Monitor sterilizers and document results; communicate issues to OR and SPD.
