Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL is seeking a PRN Sterile Processing Technician to join a team focused on safe patient care and efficiency. You will support decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of reusable medical supplies in accordance with hospital standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Central Sterile processing experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and write legibly and communicate in a professional manner to all hospital staff.
• Solid math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Collects, cleans, sanitizes and operates all equipment necessary for the sterilization process.
• Inspects, assembles, wraps and labels products processed in the department for sterilization according to policies.
• Keeps all equipment used for sterilization clean and organized; maintains logs and documentation.
• Relates information to management in a timely manner and communicates with staff professionally.
• Completes duties across shifts to cover emergencies and vacations; assists coworkers as needed.
