Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking an SPD Technician to join our team on dayshift. You will inspect, decontaminate, sterilize and assemble surgical instrumentation following industry standards.

This role requires CRCST certification and a high school diploma; BLS within six months. You may rotate to Malvern, PA and Deptford Ambulatory Surgery Center, Deptford, NJ per Perioperative Leadership.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification is required.
• High School Diploma required.
• American Heart Association BLS within six months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, decontaminate, prepare and package instrumentation according to standards.
• Distribute medical and surgical supplies from sterile processing areas as needed.
• Follow standard precautions including the use of PPE.
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturer's instructions for cleaning solutions and equipment.
• Operate equipment in sterile processing areas safely per manufacturer instructions.
• Monitor, interpret and document results of sterilizer indicators.
• Prepare and distribute surgical case carts per physician's preference lists.
• Maintain inventory with Materials Management and restock materials as needed.
