Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital – Mountain Point in Lehi, Utah, seeks a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to ensure efficient flow in the Sterile Processing department, maintaining decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies.

You will monitor sterilization equipment, keep meticulous compliance records (AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, OSHA) and mentor non-certified staff, supporting regulatory readiness and patient safety culture in a Level III trauma center

Qualifications

• CRCST or CSPDT Certification required.
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Six (6) months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of how items to be sterilized should be packaged to promote successful sterilization.
• Understands practices for cleaning and care of surgical instruments and powered equipment and manufacturer instructions for use.
• Understands that devices labeled as single-use should not be reprocessed unless FDA guideline for reprocessing of single-use devices can be met.
• Sterilizes supplies and instruments using prescribed method (e.g. steam, gas plasma Sterrad).
• Operates washer/decontaminator per department policy and procedure.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Certified Sterile Processing Tech, you will promote improved quality and patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department, performing routine tasks related to decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies.

Every day you will operate and monitor sterilization equipment, maintain meticulous records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. You will also maintain your certification, monitor/instruct/mentor non-certified staff, and actively facilitate the department's preparation for survey/regulatory assessments, contributing to a culture of patient safety.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Certified Sterile Processing Technician with meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of safety and compliance standards, and a commitment to ensuring quality and patient safety in the OR.

Pay Range
