Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Central Service Technician to support sterile instrumentation and trays for the Department of Surgery and other hospital departments. The role reports to the Senior Technician for Central Services or OR Management and involves decontamination, inspection, and preparation of instruments.

Responsibilities include transporting supplies, operating decontamination equipment, and maintaining sterilization records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher education.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics and concepts to a wide audience.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates and inspects surgical instruments and trays.
• Transports equipment and supplies between departments as needed.
• Loads sterilizer racks and records contents on logs.
• Performs housekeeping and general duties to maintain area cleanliness.
