Follow the direction and guidance of the Central Supply Supervisor.Responsibilities:- Operates steam and ETO gas sterilizers- Maintain extra supplies- Updates file cards and maintains daily records- Participates in continuing education programs in the hospital and in outside seminars and workshops.Desired Attributes:- Basic understanding of various functions of the department. Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures.- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department.- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Minimum Qualifications:- High school graduate or equivalentRequired Licensure/Certification:Certification by the Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) upon hire or must obtain within two years of hire.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates could vary based on position details and FTE.
