The Sterile Processing role supports surgical services by cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing instruments, maintaining records, and ensuring supplies meet hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Maintains CPR certification.
• Maintains Sterile Processing Certification.
• Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC; annual education may be required for specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize, reprocess, and wrap all equipment for OR, L&D, Med Surg, Endo Lab, ER, Urgent Care facilities and physician practices.
• Document sterilization records.
• Check in all daily supplies and store accordingly.
• Assist OR staff with instrument locations and transport.
• Prepare supply orders for surgical buyers.
• Flush eyewash stations and maintain logs.

Position Summary

Under assessment and supervision of theDirector of Surgical Proceduresand according to established policies and procedures, performs activities in order to assist health care providers in performing various technical /clinical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, sterilize, reprocess, and wrap all equipment for Operating Room, Labor & Delivery, Med Surg units, Endo Diagnostic Lab, Emergency Room, Urgent Care facilities and physician practices.
• Document on sterilization records
• Check in all daily supplies and put away accordingly
• Assist OR staff with instrument locations and transport
• Prepare supply orders for surgical byers
• Flush eyewash stations and maintain logs

Requirements:

• Maintain CPR Certification
• Maintain Sterile Processing Certification
• Minimum requirement, high school diploma or GED.
• Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
