Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to ensure sterile instrumentation is available for procedures. You will process and sterilize instruments, assemble trays, perform quality checks, and maintain inventory to support safe patient care.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to sterilization protocols. The team delivers high-quality service to physicians, staff, and patients, with opportunities to grow through the Education Benefit program.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Prefer completion of a surgical instrument technician program or two years surgical instrument experience.
• Ability to adhere to strict sterilization protocols and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers case carts with aseptic technique.
• Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, flexible endoscopes and other medical devices.
• Assembles, packages and labels instruments for various methods of sterilization.
• Answers telephone, fills orders, issues and stocks supplies.
• Utilizes various methods of high/low temp sterilization and disinfection processes.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sterile Processing Tech at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will be a vital link in patient care, ensuring the highest quality, sterile instrumentation is always available to medical teams.

Every day, you will meticulously process and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, assembling trays, conducting quality checks, and maintaining inventory. You'll provide excellent service to patients, physicians, and staff, ensuring tools are safe and ready for procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a rigorous commitment to sterilization protocols, working efficiently and expertly to support optimal outcomes.

• Prepares and delivers case carts. Utilizes aseptic technique when handling and distributing sterile instruments and supplies.

• Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, flexible endoscopes and other medical devices.

• Ability to assemble, package and label, clinics surgical services and all other hospital instrumentation for various methods of sterilization.

• Answers telephone, fills orders, issues and stocks supplies

• Utilizes various methods of high/low temp sterilization and disinfection processes.

Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000.

Pay Range

$18.60 - $23.71 /hour
