Job summary

Delray Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to support surgical services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will perform cleaning, decontamination and sterilization, preparing packs and supplies for all surgery cases, including linens and instruments. The role requires attentiveness to procedure and professional interaction across departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a sterile processing course or surgical technician program.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience in central sterilization operations.
• Certified Central Service Technician or Certified Surgical Technician is preferred; if not certified, certification must be obtained within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming supplies and equipment.
• Perform cleaning, decontamination and sterilizing duties.
• Prepare packs of supplies and sterilize for all surgery cases.
• Handle linens, and instruments in Sterile Processing as directed.
• Maintain high standards of procedure and interact professionally with all departments.

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for processing incoming supplies and equipment. Performs cleaning, decontamination and sterilizing duties, prepares packs of supplies, prepares supplies for all surgery cases, linens, and instruments in Sterile Processing as directed. Must be extremely conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with all departments.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a sterile processing course or surgical technician program

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum: None
• Preferred: At least one year previous experience in central sterilization operations.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

• Certified Central Service Technician certification or Certified Surgical Technician preferred. If not certified at time of hire into position, certification must be obtained within first year of employment.
