Job summary

Delray Medical Center Hospital, part of the Tenet Healthcare network, is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech for evening shifts. You will process incoming supplies, perform decontamination and sterilizing duties, and prepare packs for all surgery cases in Sterile Processing.

Requirements include a high school diploma and completion of a sterile processing course or surgical tech program; preferred: at least one year in central sterilization operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a sterile processing course or surgical technician program
• Experience: Minimum: None; Preferred: At least one year in central sterilization operations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing incoming supplies and equipment.
• Performs cleaning, decontamination and sterilizing duties, prepares packs of supplies, prepares supplies for all surgery cases, linens, and instruments in Sterile Processing as directed.
• Must be extremely conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with all departments.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

• Certified Central Service Technician certification or Certified Surgical Technician preferred.
• If not certified at time of hire into position, certification must be obtained within first year of employment
