Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Supervisor CSPD to oversee decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of medical supplies, ensuring compliance with Mount Sinai policies and patient care requirements.

The role manages sterilization workflows, staffing, training, and performance, coordinates with other departments, maintains inventory, and supports purchasing while meeting productivity and budget targets. On-site, you will lead a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in an allied health field or equivalent experience.
• 3 years in sterile processing or similar setting with 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).

Responsibilities

• Supervises all sterilization processes including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, storage and distribution.
• Monitors work in progress to ensure adherence to sterile processing standards and corrects issues.
• Coordinates staffing schedules and ensures weekend coverage.
• Works with other departments to resolve instrument problems and supply needs.
• Develops processes meeting patient, physician, and user department needs within productivity and budget targets.
• Maintains inventory and assists Purchasing with information for trades/purchases; performs minor repairs.
• Participates in developing departmental policies and standards.
• Manages hiring, performance appraisals, training, disciplinary actions and terminations.
