Job summary

The Sterile Processing Supervisor at Medical University of South Carolina oversees the Sterile Processing Department to ensure safe, compliant reprocessing of surgical instruments and devices. We seek a leader with CRCST – HSPA or CBSPD certification, 3+ years in sterile processing leadership, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified in sterile processing (CRCST–HSPA or CBSPD) and maintain current certification.
• Minimum 3 years in sterile processing, including leadership.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles, microbiology, and infection prevention.
• Knowledge of instrument names, functions, and specialty sets.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical leadership for the SPD.
• Supervise Lead Technicians and SPD staff.
