Responsibilities

• Provides complex technical, administrative and professional guidance to Medical Supply Technicians.
• Interprets and provides direction to staff for implementing SPS guidance from VHA and other regulators.
• Monitors and conducts training of all staff to comply with work needs.
• Evaluates training requirements to maintain staff development.
• Directs response to equipment and sterilization process failures.
• Coordinates notifications and corrective actions.
• Evaluates performance of subordinates and participates in performance reviews.
• Provides orientation training for new staff and tracks progress.
• Implements action plans to improve performance.
• Provides input for operating instructions and performance standards.
• Monitors compliance with references from the sterile processing industry.
• Implements changes based on recalls and safety alerts.
• Interfaces with Healthcare Industry Representatives to ensure supplies and instrumentation meet facility needs.
