Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Certification: CBSPD or HSPA/IAHCSMM preferred.
• At least 2 years in a Sterile Processing Supervisor role required.
• Lead experience alone is not sufficient for this role.
• Travel experience is required.
• Trauma Level I facility experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily sterile processing operations during the evening shift.
• Monitor decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments.
• Ensure compliance with AAMI, Joint Commission, infection prevention, and hospital standards.
• Oversee staff workflow, productivity, and quality assurance activities.
• Coordinate instrument availability for surgical procedures.
• Manage case carts and instrument tray preparation.
• Support trauma, robotics, orthopedics, transplant, cardiac, and neurosurgery service lines.
• Monitor biological and chemical indicator testing.
• Document in Censitrac and Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM).
• Review sterilization records and quality metrics.
• Oversee loaner instrumentation processing and tracking.
• Support endoscope and flexible scope reprocessing operations.
• Troubleshoot sterilization equipment issues and workflow challenges.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with operating room leadership and perioperative teams.

Education

BLS Certification

CBSPD Certification or HSPA/IAHCSMM Certification

Required Qualifications

• Previous travel experience required
