CoxHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Shift Supervisor to oversee daily SPD operations and ensure staff meet policy standards.

Under the SPD Manager, you will monitor productivity, assist with budgeting, troubleshoot instrument issues, and maintain interdepartmental relationships with surgical teams.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Graduate from a School of Surgical Technology.
• Required: 9 months experience in SPD or Surgery.
• Preferred: 2 years’ experience in SPD or Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily operations in the SPD department and ensure policy adherence.
• Assist SPD Manager with budgeting and planning for future needs.
• Troubleshoot safety, instrument and equipment issues, and maintain rapport with staff.
• Supervise department in SPD Manager's absence and lead in-day operations.

Monitors productivity and quality of product of individual employees and of an assigned shift. Assists SPD Manager with budget monitoring. Participates with SPD Manager in planning for future needs and project implementation related to personnel, program development, instrumentation, equipment, interdepartmental relationships and department goals. Assesses and troubleshoots safety, instrument and equipment issues. Establishes and maintains professional rapport with medical, nursing and other staff. Assumes responsibilities for department as a whole in the absence of the SPD Manager.Education: Preferred: Graduate from a School of Surgical TechnologyExperience: Required: 9 months experience in SPD or Surgery Preferred: 2 Years’ experience in SPD or SurgerySkills: Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Detailed knowledge of department policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements Knowledge of computer systems including basic computer knowledge, MS Office, databases, and inventory management systems Ability to operate complex machinery including washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers Demonstrated ability to competently perform multiple, complex tasks Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge instrumentation Ability to multitaskLicensure/Certification/Registration: Required: CRCST or CBSPD; CHL must be obtained within 2 years of hire
