Qualifications

• Three (3) years of sterile processing experience.
• Certification options include CIS, CER, CHL (HSPA) or CFER, CSIS, CSPM (CBSPD).
• Current certification as required by CBSPD or HSPA depends on the department.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sterilizes surgical instruments and supplies according to procedures.
• assembles trays and case carts and delivers/recovers supplies to hospital departments.
• Inspects equipment, maintains inventory, and replenishes items as needed.
• Documents patient charges for supplies and trays used.
• Monitors quality control, safety processes, and training of staff.
• Acts as subject matter expert in sterilization methods and tools.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation needs for OR and other departments.
