What You Will Do:
  • Oversee the preparation, sterilization, and distribution of equipment, supplies, instruments, and endoscopes needed for patient care.
  • Support the goals associated with the broad spectrum of sterilization and the needs of all customers.
  • Supervise and develop staff, ensure appropriate decontamination and sterilization processes, prepare reports, assist with the development of policies and procedures, and implement programs related to these responsibilities.
  • Ensure patient and team member safety and adherence to regulatory agency recommendations related to the sterile processing area.

Candidates must have 2 active CRCST/CSPDT/CFER national certificates and/or be a Certified Surgical Technologist. No provisional certifications accepted.

What You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Requires two national certifications (CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CST) and a second related to central service or sterile processing (e.g., CIS, CSIP, CFER, CST, CHMM, CHL).
  • 24 CE credits annually focusing on sterile processing advancements.
  • Basic Life Support certification through AHA; other advanced life support certifications may be required.
  • 5-7 years relevant experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of sterilization practices, surgical procedures, medical terminology, and regulations.
  • Basic computer skills.
