Responsabilités

• Decontaminate, disinfect, sterilize, and package instruments and equipment.
• Completely disassemble instruments to remove debris and bioburden prior to sterilization.
• Perform autoclaving and reprocessing according to policies and manufacturers' guidelines.
• Maintain records for all sterilization procedures and monitor biological indicators.
• Ensure sterilization parameters are met through quality assurance checks.
• Communicate with staff to resolve instrument shortages and arrange maintenance or replacements.

Description:Responsible for all steps necessary for the proper decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and packaging of instruments and equipment.Supports decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and packaging of instruments and equipment as needed.Completely disassembles instruments and equipment to ensure the removal of debris, surgical soil, and bioburdens prior to sterilization or high-level disinfection.Performs multi-step procedures to effectively reprocess various instruments, including autoclaving.Performs and validates all cleaning of instruments using established policies and procedures, and manufacturer's instructions for use guidelines.Maintains records for all sterilization procedures processed, including interpretation of biological monitoring and validation of monitoring results.Ensures sterilization parameters are met through quality assurance checks.Communicates effectively with providers and staff to problem-solve in the event of instrument shortages.Verifies that equipment functions properly and requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.Maintains competency in sterilization reprocessing by demonstrating skills and participating in continuing education.Assists in the training and certification of team members as needed.Performs additional supply handling duties as time permits, including product ordering, stocking, and inventory checks.Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.Possesses advanced levels of hand-eye coordination skills.Holds a working level of organizational skills and is self-motivated.
