Job summary

NTMC in Gainesville, TX is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician under the supervision of the Director of Surgical Services. The role prepares instrument trays for both minor and major procedures, maintaining aseptic standards and coordinating with the floor team to minimize delays in surgery.

Responsibilities include organizing instruments, enforcing sterility monitors, maintaining records, and performing equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Additional languages a plus
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier loads as needed

Responsibilities

• Sets up and maintains instrument trays for procedures with aseptic guidelines.
• Organizes instruments and supplies for easy access and efficiency.
• Ensures sterilized items have required sterility monitors.
• Maintains records of all sterilization procedures and notifies the director of variances.
• Coordinates schedule and priorities with floor coordinator and physicians.
• Assists with other department functions as needed.
