Job summary

East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to ensure availability of clean, sterilized instruments and equipment for operating rooms and procedures. You will pick, stock, and organize instruments, supporting patient safety and infection control standards.

The role requires 0-2 years in sterile processing or related OR support, strong attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to protocols.

Qualifications

0-2 years of experience in sterile processing, instrument reprocessing, or an operating room.
Understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterilization processes.
Ability to follow strict protocols and maintain attention to detail.
Knowledge of infection control policies and standard precautions.
Strong organizational and teamwork skills to support procedures.

Responsibilities

Selects and supplies surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
Stocks and assembles case carts, ensuring instrument availability for procedures.
Organizes and stores sterilized instruments on labeled shelves for easy access.
Monitors and restocks supply shelves and carts daily to maintain inventory.
Adheres to infection control policies and standard precautions to prevent infections.
Obtains, returns, and dispenses supplies within requested time frames.
