Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM is required and must be maintained.
• Five years or more experience in a Sterile Processing Department is required.
• Experience and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
• Knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and basic microbiology.
• Minimum of one year supervisory or coordinator experience in Sterile Processing or related field.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports and enables delivery of quality patient care service.
• Directs, prioritizes, and adjusts staff assignments to ensure timely delivery of OR equipment and case carts.
• Assigns staff to duties to meet patient care demands and staffing needs.
• Interacts with hospital departments, physician offices, and vendors to manage department operations.
• Promotes a positive impression with department staff, vendors, and guests as a resource for end-users.
• Supports quality assurance programs and communicates problems to the manager.
• Provides feedback for performance evaluations and staff development.
