Job Summary

As an Operations Manager - Sterile Processing, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sterile processing department's operations. Your role includes coordinating department staff, assisting in training and development, and serving as a liaison between hospital administration and departments to ensure the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prioritize, direct, and coordinate all sterile processing functions and activities.
  2. Interpret policies, procedures, standards, and regulations relevant to personnel, nursing, and medical staff.
  3. Perform duties of Central Supply technician as needed. Manage work schedules, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and recommend personnel actions.
  4. Maintain departmental policies, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  5. Coordinate with operating room and nursing units to ensure prompt and efficient service.
  6. Sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies; handle and store items properly.
  7. Ensure cleanliness of work areas.
  8. Supervise requisitioning, sorting, labeling, and issuing of equipment.
  9. Coordinate sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
  10. Ensure staff compliance with sterilization policies and procedures.
  11. Supervise, train, and evaluate staff performance.
  12. Schedule and monitor staff work to optimize operations.
  13. Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. 2-3 years of progressive experience in sterile processing or similar field.
  3. CRCST certification required.
  4. Strong work ethic, initiative, and customer service orientation.
  5. Effective written and oral communication skills.
  6. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  7. Leadership experience managing and training staff.
  8. Ability to work under stress.
  9. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
