The candidate will supervise training, coordinate with Perioperative Services, and report on quality metrics. Required CST, BLS, and regulatory familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent and Central Service Technology training completed.
• Strong background in instrumentation and surgical services.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (AAMI, AORN, OSHA, FDA, CDC).
• Working knowledge of computers, databases, word processing and spreadsheets.
• BLS certification and CST status; LA Fire Card within 30 days preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees processing and sterilization of medical devices and supplies per regulatory requirements.
• Supervises staff and develops training programs and new employee orientation.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Services for instrument and equipment purchases.
• Provides data on quality measures to Perioperative leadership.
• Interfaces with leadership and staff to improve sterile processing workflows.
• Leads sterilization across all ages from neonate to geriatric patients.
