Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments meet the highest quality and safety standards. You will receive, clean, sterilize, decontaminate, and prepare packs of supplies and instruments for the operating rooms and hospital units.

Required: High school diploma or GED, CRCST certification, and a minimum of 1 year sterile processing experience; English fluency and basic computer skills; ability to follow protocols and collaborate with OR staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CRCST certifications required on hire.
• Minimum 1 year sterile processing experience in a hospital and/or outpatient setting.
• Must be able to retain knowledge of instruments, materials and procedures; English fluency and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, clean, disinfect, and decontaminate instruments and supplies per hospital policies and guidelines.
• Operate washer‑decontaminator, cart washer, and ultrasonic cleaner to decontaminate instruments.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and working order; prepare packs and containers.
• Scan barcodes, select appropriate count sheets, and restock items for OR and hospital units.
• Monitor and document sterilization processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
