Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician III to advance the sterilization and infection control processes supporting surgical care. The role involves working with the Surgery Clinical staff to assess procedures, troubleshoot issues, and ensure instrument readiness for trauma and tertiary cases.

The incumbent will mentor SP team members, maintain strict quality controls, and participate in instrument distribution and process improvements to support safe patient

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Sterile Processing.
• Nationally certified through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA); or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
• Maintain required CEU’s in accordance with Certifying body.

Responsibilities

• Works with Surgery Clinical staff and managers to assess, troubleshoot and recommend for trauma and tertiary care procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization process, infection control, instrument QC, sterility maintenance, and aseptic technique.
• Acts as resource and mentor for SP team and surgical clinical team.
