Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Dual Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST or CBSPD) is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in sterile processing

Responsibilities

• Provides mentorship and education to technicians across all levels.
• Leads charge responsibilities and serves on-call as needed.
• Drives continuous quality improvement and participates in hospital-wide initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards from OSHA, DPH, Joint Commission, AAMI, and AORN.
• Collaborates closely with surgical services to meet department and customer needs.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and consistent application of sterilization standards and practices.
• Assumes charge role and on-call duties with full accountability for assigned services.
• Precepts and mentors technicians, supporting ongoing education and policy compliance.
• Stays current with surgical specialties, technologies, and trends to inform staff development.
• Prioritizes, organizes, and coordinates daily workflow and assignments to optimize efficiency.
• Maintains, audits, and analyzes records; troubleshoots equipment issues.
• Collaborates with OR leadership on equipment purchasing, inventory, and utilization.
