Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or advanced training desired.
• Minimum of 2 years instrument technician experience.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization procedures per applicable standards.
• Familiarity with cleaning, decontamination and assembly of surgical instruments and sets.

Responsibilities

• Perform and monitor decontamination, preparation/assembly, sterilization, and distribution of trays, sets, equipment, and supplies in sterile processing without supervision.
• Conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of department equipment.
• Distribute supplies to customers while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Observe dress codes, environmental policies and traffic controls to prevent cross-contamination.
