Mercy is seeking a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician II to support decontamination, processing and sterilization of instruments. You will follow instructions, test equipment and assemble items for sterilization while maintaining accurate documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, PPE and teamwork within the Sterile Processing Department. The shift is 2:00pm-10:30pm; candidates with at least 6 months in sterile processing and basic computer skills will fit well.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 months Sterile Processing experience or 400 hours hands-on.
• CRCST through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Clean instruments and equipment ensuring items are free of bioburden.
• Inspect, function test and assemble instruments for sterilization.
• Follow Manufacturer Instructions for Decontamination, Processing and Sterilization.

The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician II, under general supervision follows robust processes in Decontamination, Processing and Sterilization by cleaning instruments and equipment ensuring that all items are free of any bioburden, inspecting, function testing and assembling instruments and equipment for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization. The Sterile Processing Technician always follows the Manufacturer's Instructions for Use in Decontamination, Processing, High Level Disinfection & Sterilization as well as Department and Hospital Processes and Policies. The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician must be able accurately maintain the required documentation on written logs and/or computer systems. Documentation includes processes in Decontamination, Processing, High Level Disinfection or Sterilization as well as Sterile Processing Department Equipment. The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician must be able to prioritize instrumentation for processing, answer telephones and dispatch instrumentation, equipment and supplies. The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician performs their duties in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Details:

Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 6 months experience in Sterile Processing or 400 hours of hands on experience in Sterile Processing, preferred

Certifications: CRCST Certification through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD, preferred

• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of disciplines.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to operate equipment.

The physical demands described here are the representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands are below:

• Frequent: high/mid/low level lift of items weighing around 25 pounds
