Job summary

UnityPoint Health - Allen is seeking an Instrument Tech for Sterile Processing to perform decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly and sterilization of instruments and equipment. This full-time role requires adherence to infection control practices and strong communication with the Sterile Processing Manager.

Responsibilities include assembling trays, operating autoclaves and Sterrad machines, maintaining records and applying aseptic techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years hospital experience in UPH-Allen preferred in place of high school diploma.
• Fluency in English; basic computer skills; critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Assembles instrument procedure trays using protocol content lists as a guide.
• Decontaminates instruments, equipment and devices per manufacturer guidelines.
• Sterilizes instruments, equipment and supplies in autoclaves and Sterrad machines.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas; completes documentation records.
• Demonstrates knowledge of infection control principles and sterilization processes.
