Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience is required
• Current certification through a nationally accredited central service credentialing organization (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT) or equivalent

Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Facilitator serves as a key liaison between the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and the Operating Room (OR), coordinating point-of-care instrument needs, room turnovers, and the sterilization of surgical instrumentation for assigned specialty service surgical sets. This role collaborates closely with SPD and OR leadership to ensure instrumentation and equipment needs are met for upcoming surgical procedures, supporting efficient workflow and exceptional patient care. The Facilitator is responsible for identifying, reporting, and helping resolve instrument and equipment issues, and reports directly to the Sterile Processing Manager. Excellent communication, collaboration, and de-escalation skills are essential to effectively coordinate across teams, address concerns, and maintain a positive, patient-focused environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in sterilizing reusable surgical instrumentation and surgical sets required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Progressive leadership experience required.
• Current certification through a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization required, such as:
  • Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
  • Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
  • Or a substantially equivalent credential

OR

• Evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of at least one year between January 1, 2011, and January 1, 2015.

OR

• Must successfully obtain the required certification within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years sterile processing or Operating Room experience preferred

Work Days:

Mon-Fri evenings, weekends and holidays rotating based on department need
