Norwalk Hospital Association is seeking a Level 1 Sterile Processing Technician to handle decontamination, sterilization, and general processing of instruments for surgical and endoscopic care.
You will work under minimal supervision, prioritize OR needs, and may assume charge on weekends. Requires High School Diploma, 3 years’ SPD experience, SPD licensure, and CBSPD/HSPA certification. Shifts are day/evening, Mon-Fri.
Fulfills all Level 1 Tech responsibility. Under minimal supervision, performs various manual and automated activities in the processing of equipment, surgical instruments and supplies for decontamination, sterilization and general processing. Responsible for item tracking and inspection using a computerized system tracking program. Distributes and prepares equipment, instruments and supplies used for the care and treatment of surgical and endoscopic patients. Works independently and assumes charge role on weekends and during the week as needed.
This position is day/evening 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 PM, every other weekend from �10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Required: This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma and minimum of three years sterile processing experience and SPD licensure.
