Job summary

The Sterile Processing Educator at Medical University of South Carolina develops and conducts education programs enabling staff to acquire knowledge, rationales, certification and skills to support operational goals. The educator will also assist updating Instrument Tracking System Data and ensuring all scanning protocols are followed.

Requires a high school diploma with 3 years in Sterile Processing; a healthcare-related bachelor’s is acceptable with 2 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years in Sterile Processing or Operating Room.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field accepted with 2 years hospital experience.
• Certification through HSPA or CBSPD required.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Instrument Tracking System.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct education programs to enable staff to acquire knowledge, rationale, certification and skills.
• Support operational and organizational goals through staff education.
• Update Instrument Tracking System data and ensure scanning protocols are followed.
