Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Department Manager to lead the SPD team, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with surgical services and nursing units. The role oversees reprocessing quality and timely delivery of items to clinical areas, while maintaining interdepartmental cooperation.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a track record in sterile processing, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in healthcare completed within two years of employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in science or healthcare preferred.
• Five (5) years minimum in Sterile Processing with increasing responsibility.
• Maintains currency with four SPD certifications within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Infection Prevention staff and leadership to monitor and implement quality assurance activities related to readiness, quality, service and workflow.
• Maintains instructions, policies, and performance expectations based on industry guidelines and regulations (AHRQ, AAMI, AORN, APIC, ASGE, CDC, EPA, FDA, IAHCSMM, OSHA, SGNA, TJC, WHO).
• Maintains staff scheduling to ensure operational support requirements for the OR and related areas are met.
