Job summary

Madera Community Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee the Central Supply Department. This role ensures proper sterilization, packaging, and handling of surgical instruments and supplies, and maintains tray makeup and equipment catalogs.

Under the Director of Surgical Services, you will supervise staff, optimize workflows, and uphold aseptic techniques to support patient care in Central California.

Qualifications

• Certification: CBSPD or CRCST required.
• 3–5 years as Sterile Processing Technician with 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Basic knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily operations of the Central Supply Department.
• Oversees case cart preparation, packaging, sterilization, and handling of instruments and supplies.
• Maintains up-to-date tray makeup lists and catalogs for all trays, packs, equipment and supplies.
• Oversees preparation and setup of case carts.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the supervision and the daily operation of the Central Supply Department. Maintains the work flow process of case carts, instruments, basins, etc. Oversees and ensures the proper assembly, packaging, sterilization, sorting, inspection, maintenance, and handling of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies. Maintains a complete up-to-date list of tray makeup in Surgery, and the catalog and locator for all trays, packs, equipment and supplies. Oversees preparation and set-up of case carts.

Qualifications:

• Requires Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
• Requires 3-5 years as a Sterile Processing Technician with 1-2 years supervisory experience.
• Requires basic knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterilization equipment.
