Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Sterile Processing Coordinator to support Sterile Processing Leadership by directing teammates in prioritizing instruments for processing, decontamination, sterilization and high-level disinfection.

The role focuses on maintaining quality and integrity in the department, implementing electronic instrument tracking, evaluating new instrumentation, and enforcing vendor policies in alignment with Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as Instrument Technician or able to obtain within 18 months.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct coworkers to prioritize instruments for processing, decontamination, sterilization and high-level disinfection.
• Implement and maintain quality monitors within the department.

Implements and maintains quality and integrity within the department by establishing quality monitors. Evaluates new instrumentation. Enforces vendor policies. Implements and maintains electronic instrument tracking system. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification/Registration: Must have certification as an Instrument Technician (or obtain within 18 months of hire).
• Preferred Experience: Prefer previous supervisory experience.
