Job Details

The Sterile Processing & Case Cart (SPCC) Educator & Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the orientation, competency, and quality assurance programs, as well as the professional development of SPCC Department personnel. Additionally, the coordinator develops and maintains SPCC Department policies and procedures.

Job Description

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (2 pm - 10:30 pm)
  • Delegates workload to staff members to achieve or exceed planned outcomes.
  • Works effectively as part of a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Coaches staff to encourage, motivate, and guide learning and effectiveness improvements.
  • Uses critical thinking and problem-solving tools to analyze situations and make productive decisions.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in processing information.
  • Participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating quality assurance activities, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of sterile processing products.
  • Communicates pertinent information effectively to management, colleagues, and staff.
  • Evaluates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations.
  • Manages the Sterile Processing & Case Cart Quality Assurance Program, employing a multidisciplinary approach to enhance clinical outcomes in the perioperative setting.
  • Maintains current knowledge of standards, regulations, protocols, products, and equipment related to Sterile Processing from organizations like AAMI, AORN, and regulatory agencies.
  • Interacts professionally with co-workers, staff, stakeholders, and visitors, aligning with Jefferson policies and iSCORE values.
