Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Pennsylvania is seeking a Scientist to join the Steriles Packaging Development lab in UP, PA. You will provide packaging development analytical support across multiple projects, focusing on sterile primary packaging, testing, and lifecycle analysis.

You will collaborate with the Lab Manager to maintain operations, train team members, manage lab inventory, and prepare data summaries for project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Chemistry, Life Science.
• 2–4 years’ experience in parenteral package development in pharma.
• Analytical and/or lab based experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab analyses to support sterile primary package selection, integrity, and lifecycle testing.
• Execute analytical techniques such as extrusion force testing, stopper movement, CCI capabilities (HeLD, Vacuum Decay, headspace).
• Train others in packaging/analytical techniques and apply them to projects.
• Maintain Lab To Operate (LTO) status with Lab Manager, including equipment maintenance, documentation and vendor coordination.
• Manage lab inventory, ordering, receiving, and space organization for a flexible workspace.
• Prepare and communicate data summaries to project teams.
