Job summary

Home Life Healthcare Corp. in Hoffman Estates, IL seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist with sterile IV compounding, labeling, and inventory management. You will ensure aseptic technique and compliance with P&Ps, contributing to safe patient care.

The ideal candidate has IV compounding experience or training, a High School Diploma (GED accepted), and pharmacy technician certification preferred. Full-time position with regular duties and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Pharmacy Technician certification.
• One year of IV compounding experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in maintaining federal, state and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).
• Performs IV admixtures sterility testing in accordance with policy, maintains appropriate documentation.
• Assist the pharmacists in the preparation and labeling of medications as allowed by law.
• Prepares sterile parenterals following aseptic technique and obtaining required checks by pharmacists.
• Appropriate assembly of drugs and supplies by matching codes and quantities from the compounding document.
• Correct labeling of product and checking the final product for particulate matter and container integrity.
• Ensuring compounded product gets matched to the right delivery just prior to shipping.
• Maintains and tracks DME and other equipment including cleaning and calibration activities.
• Maintains pharmacy records including filing and documenting required information on dispensing records.
• Orders, receives and stores medications and supplies.
• Performs physical inventories according to (P&Ps).
• Communicates appropriately with all members of the healthcare team.
• Participates in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities education programs.
